Musik aus Düsseldorf hat nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg viele Künstlerinnen und Künstler im In- und Ausland nachhaltig beeinflusst. In besonderem Maße prägend waren die Impulse für die elektronische Musik. Hier mitbegründet wurde die Technik des Samplings, die bereits fertige Tonaufnahmen wie zum Beispiel aus Field Recordings in einen neuen musikalischen Kontext setzt, und aus heutigen Musikproduktionen nicht mehr wegzudenken ist.
INDUSTRIAL bringt aktuelle Musikerinnen, Musiker und Bands aus Düsseldorf mit ortsansässigen Industrieunternehmen zusammen. Letztere öffnen ihre Werkstore und ermöglichen es den Kreativen, sich von den Geräuschen inspirieren zu lassen. Auf diese Weise entstanden an 8 Industrieorten die Grundlagen für 15 neue Tracks aus verschiedenen Genres. Die Klänge der Werkshallen bilden die Basis für ‚Neue Düsseldorfer Industriemusik’.
Since the Second World War music from Düsseldorf had a lasting influence on many artists at nationally and abroad. The impulses were particularly influential for electronic music. It was here that the technique of sampling was co-founded, which puts already finished sound recordings, such as those from field recordings, into a new musical context and has become indispensable in today’s music productions.
INDUSTRIAL brings together current musicians and bands from Düsseldorf with local industrial companies. The latter open their factory gates and allow the creatives to be inspired by the sounds. In this way, the foundations for 15 new tracks from different genres were created at 8 industrial locations. The sounds of the factory halls form the basis for ‘New Düsseldorf Industrial Music’.
